The Alamo was closed for the afternoon, after hauling 6,500 miles to get there. I couldn't find a Moose to punch. I am going back tomorrow.

The river runs at basement level, and, as you can see, there have been some improvements to the look of the whole thing. Again, here is an example of a City that DOES NOT CLOSE DOWN AT 5:OO PM.  The place was still going full tilt at 11:30.

This is a night shot of the river. Both sides have been utilized by merchants and restauranteers alike. It is a blast just to walk the banks, which plenty of people were doing tonight.

Another night shot along the river.

Barges take tourists around a 2 1/2 mile strech of the river. The ride is narrated and returns from where you left. I wasn't able to fit it in. Note the underside of the bridge at the top of the photo. One of San Antonio's main streets is up on the top of that bridge.

More of the River Walk in downtown San Antonio

This kind of place really needs to be seen with someone, and not by yourself. I believe I may have been the only single person walking the sidewalks today.
