NORTHBOUND ON HISTORIC 101 ALONG THE COAST. I AM IN SAN CLEMENTE, THE FORMER
HOME OF THE THEN LIVING EX PRESIDENT RICHARD MILHOUSE NIXON. IT SEEMS AS THOUGH
THE ENTIRE TOWN IS A SERIES OF GATED COMMUNITIES. EVEN THE GATES HAD GATES, THAT'S
HOW RITZY THIS PLACE IS.

VERY NICE AREA, THIS SAN CLEMENTE IS. I GOT OFF OF I 5 WHEN THE 101 WAS CLOSER TO THE OCEAN THAT THE
INTERSTATE WAS. VERY RICH AREA, HERE.

TO QUOTE THE MAMAS AND THE PAPAS, "CALIFORNIA DREAMING IS BECOMING A REALITY"... CHECK OUT THE GAS PRICES

MALIBU BEACH. THE STUFF THAT BEACH BOYS SONGS ARE MADE OF. I SAT HERE FOR QUITE A WHILE.

THE GPS HAD ME TAKE THE CANYON ROAD OUT OF MALIBU. IT WAS A THRILLING AND AWE INSPIRING 20 MILES.

THERE IS A LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL, AND IT ISN'T TRAFFIC COMING THE OTHER WAY. YOU OUGHT TO HEAR THE HORN WHEN IT GOES OFF IN THERE, THOUGH, ALTHOUGH IT MAKES OTHER TRAFFIC NERVOUS........

I LOVED THE LOOK OF THIS PLACE ON BRAND STREET IN DOWNTOWN GLENDALE. NORM, MY
BUDDY FROM WORK AT RCMC, LIVES HERE, AND HAD TAKEN ME TO DINNER NEXT DOOR TO
THIS PLACE. GREAT MEXICAN FOOD. THE ART DECO THEATER WAS JUST PERFECT. NOTE THE
TICKET BOOTH OUTSIDE.

THAT'S ME CHECKING OUT THE MARQUIS AT THE "ALEX" THEATER. I THINK I KNOW WHY IT IS CALLED THE "ALEX".
I DON'T THINK I WILL EVER BE ABLE TO HEAR THIS SONG AGAIN WITHOUT A TEAR COMING TO MY EYE, FROM
LAUGHTER. NORM AND I AGREED THAT WE DIDN'T NEED TO HEAR EITHER THE MUSIC OF BURT BACHARACH OR
THE CHORUS.

NORM PICTURED ON THE FRONT PORCH OF HIS BUNGALOW IN GLENDALE CALIFORNIA.

NORM TOOK ME TO THIS PLACE FOR BREAKFAST. IT IS CALLED EATWELL ON BRAND STREET. VERY GOOD FOOD.

BAD HAIR DAY NUMBER 205. THIS GUY SHOULD HAVE USED MORE "VO 5" ON THIS THING. IT WAS SORT OF STICKING OUT AWAY FROM HIS HEAD ALL AROUND THE CIRCUMFERENCE.

Omigosh! Your photo of the beach at Malibu took my breath away. I was already breathing deep scrolling down the beautiful sky and then the sun sparkled water came into view and finally the roll of the waves breaking on the beach......aaaahhhhhh.....pure bliss. I could feel the sun on my face and hear the sound of the water. I will open this photo often....one of many I've revisited from your trip. Thanks so very much for sharing! Glad you're out of downpours and our of flesh-melting sun! Carry on!
