      Greetings,
We happen to be crusing on the same path this day, the 24th of July. We met you at the gas station in Big Sur in the afternoon. My girfriend Anne and I traveled from Monterey to Moro Bay and back. It was always a dream of mine since my first trip to Big Sur in the early 70's to one day come back and do the Pacfic Coast Hwy on a motorcycle. It was certainly worth the wait!!! A trip of a lifetime, perhaps the best road to tour on a bike in the world. We covered apx 500 miles that day and when we met you we were almost back to our start point @ Pebble Beach.
It was a pleasure meeting you, fate perhaps..... you see I didn't catch the significance at the time. Big Sur is a special place for me. It was almost 30 yrs prior to the day that I was camping with my late wife just up the road from our meeting @ Pfier Big Sur Park. We were in our 20's and on a big adventure, having driven there from South Florida. We had a great life and traveled all over the world after that. Her name was Beth.... she passed away July 4th 1989.... Ovarian cancer. Life has never been the same since for me, my late Dad always said she was just to great of an act to follow! So you see, you just never know who you might meet on the road and what ther life story may be.
I sincerely enjoyed meeting you and perhaps you now have a better feel for the middle age couple out on a Harley you just happen to cross paths with on a beautiful day in a very special place. Be Safe and look forward to following your wonderful journey.
      Sincerely Fred Schilling
