"IN MEMORY OF MARY LOGSDON" - IN NOTE SECTION OF CHECK
AUGUST 5, 2006 - TO EVERYTHING TURN, TURN, TURN, THERE IS A SEASON, TURN, TURN, TURN AND A TIME FOR EVERY PURPOSE, UNDER HEAVEN.
Let me tell you about my day. I want to give you a minute by minute account of my day. Perhaps, though, it might be more efficient if I just give you an accounting of my day on an hour by hour basis. To be honest it was a very laid back relaxing day. If I gave you any account, by any type of time frame or standard, there would be some rather large gaps in the narrative. For instance, after sitting around in lawn chairs for most of the morning - I woke up at 9:30 AM, mind you - there was this opportunity to ………………………………………………………………….
Oh sorry, just got back from la la land. I think the nap was about two hours long. Boy, is this was a very very busy day. Let's see. Mel drove me around for a bit so I could catch a glimpse of some Eagles. We went by the Henrys fork of the Snake River. A few years ago, Evel Kneval attempted to jump the Snake River in a rocket powered two wheeled bike. They still talk about it here in this area of Idaho.
While we were out and about Mel drove me over to a fellow's farm that had an Osprey nest. Mr., Mrs. or one of the kids, were home at the time. I couldn't ask it who was who. When we returned to Mel's house, Donna had returned from shopping. Thunderstorms could be seen over the mountains and they were coming this way. It was then that I had this uncontrollable urge to take that naaaa……….
Once again, I am awake. It is storming like crazy here and the Tetons are in full sunlight. They are a magnificent range of Mountains. Tomorrow we will go to visit them.
Mary is here. Tonight, after the storm left, a double rainbow came to visit. I could see end to end. It was there for the longest time. It is the second time on this trip that her presence was felt. The first was the day I drove into Bar Harbor in the driving rain.
Mary decorated her classroom with rainbows. She thought that the rainbow was the purest sign of hope and beauty. Perhaps this appearance was her way of telling me that this was the right thing to do. I think she was letting Mel and Donna know that she was keeping her part of the promise too.
So do I.
